Project Statement:

Modern Trades is an exploration of 21st century professions. Inspired by Irving Penn’s “Small Trades” series (1950-1951), photographer Liz Groeschen is documenting the diversity in how we earn a living today through portraits of workers in uniform (required or by choice) with the tools of their trade (necessary or preferred).
