Pack of 5 double-sided three color Risograph test prints made by layering various colors. These untrimmed prints were made on standard 8.5 inch x 11 inch copy paper and may include some variation, registration marks, and/or slight mis-registration as I worked towards my desired registration for editioned prints on thicker paper.

Phrases have been taken from the “This is 3” zine documenting the fun (and funny) things Sam, my three-year-old has said (oftentimes over. and. over. again.) throughout the year. As his artwork is constantly changing and rotating around our walls, I wanted a two-sided print to provide the same option for change and rotation for yours.

Like I’ve tried to explain to my Dad (many, many times): Risograph (aka Riso) is like screen printing, except I create my files digitally before sending to the Japanese born Riso machine that he thinks is an office copier. As each color is added one layer at a time, slight registration variations can occur between prints and it’s not uncommon for roller marks or even slight ghosting of images and/or text to occur. I’ve come to embrace the uncontrollable but please know that if it’s too wild of a mis-registration or too dark of roller mark, it’s put in the test print pile - which oddly enough, often winds up being my favorite prints of all! Your print has been thoroughly inspected to ensure the registration (or intentional mis-registration) is to my liking. Hoping you enjoy this print as much as I enjoyed making it! Thank you!
